It's Da Narwhaaaaaaaaaaaaaal!!

OK, it's rather hard to tell, but the tusk is actually color changed. Now I made a CP for this, but I can't let you guys have it till February (Rules of submitting in the SNKhan Origami Christmas Book). But then, you shall have access!!

Attack of the Obsessed with Art!!

Sorry to say, but I'm probably gonna be a bit sluggish with posts for a little bit. I've started making a chainmaille shirt, and I don't know really how long it'll take to finish. Worry not, however! I'm also planning on designing a narwhal for the Origami Forum's annual Christmas Book. How it all goes down is a bunch of people submit diagrams for at least one of their own, unpublished models. Then, all the diagrams get put together in a big PDF file, then sent to each person who submitted a model. It's also possible to "back order" some by submitting more than one model. Sooooo yeah, when I finish said narwhal, I'll put up some pics!

About the Triforce Post...

Yeah, only today did I realize that my camera had been set to flip everything horizontally. Now I can't undo it on the video, but for future videos, you can be assured that it will all be going the correct direction.
For those of you who were wondering about the shirt, first its my high school senior shirt. I voted for something else (I forget now), but I ended up being in the minority. All it said was "on a scale of one to ten, we're an eleven" Yeah, Idk either why I wore it even though I dont totally care for it.

Needed for my next project

Well, I already have a project planned, but I've no clue when Imma actually get it started: making Satoshi Kamiya's Ryujin 3.5
Yeah, I know how it's done, and I still can't believe there are absolutely no cuts, and it is only one (friggin' HUGE!!) square. Sadly, there are no step-by-step diagrams, so that makes folding it all the much harder for me. D: Luckily, I found a guide to collapse the crease pattern a while back, but it was deleted. now to look some more!!
aaaaaaanyways, the thing that I'll need is this website. I'll jes' dissect the CP into likely 4 parts, then order a poster of each piece, then tape them all together to make the full CP. Then, I'll find a way to use other paper instead of the posters so that I can make multiple Ryujins if I ever feel like it. I'll probably tape some of my tracing paper into an equally large square, then trace the CP and fold from that. Either that or find a way to rub the CP onto some heavier weight paper. Idk quite how I'd do that as of yet, but I'll figger something out when I get that far. Now to finish making the chainmaille shirt.

Video Diagrams: Triforce!!

It's my own design that I submitted to the origami forum I linked in the last post for the annual Christmas book. It's been a while, so I decided to make a vid of how to make it. Enjoy!!

Compendium of Origami Symbols

I just found this to share with everyone who is new to origami so you can understand all the definitions. This has all the basics, which is pretty much all ya need!!

Sorry for the Late Post

Yeah, Blogger won't let me update posts (at least I haven't figgered that part out yet), so I couldn't just add the pics to my last post. At any rate, here are the much anticipated Phoenix Photos :D Sorry for the quality on some of them, I had ta take the pics w/ my cell phone in one hand, and holding the Phoenix in the other hand.

I think I said this in the last post, but it's by Satoshi Kamiya

It's done!

Well, after about 7 hours of work, I finally finished the phoenix! Don't worry, I'll edit the photos in tomorrow.
For those of you who are interested- it's by Satoshi Kamiya, and here is the CP*. It's a bit of a doozy to make this one, but patience pays off!

*CP means Crease Pattern, simply a square showing what the main folds are in a set model. They can be in black and white, as here, or they can be in color to indicate the fold directions.

Like I said, most likely tomorrow I'll edit my pics into this post, and you'll get ta see it!

New Blog!

Hey everyone! As you can tell by the title, this blog is gonna be all about origami. I'm gonna cover things like displaying my models for your critiquing to help me get better, and I'll post some instructions for anyone who wants to take a whack at making their own origami! So it'll be a win-win situation! I don't have that much for right now, but in the future...

P.S. Joebro is a nickname my sisters gave me, and it pretty much stuck.
